Hello, everyone! I thought I would do a post on how I do a post on how I edit my drawings.

It is my hope that this will be very helpful information ;)

First I scan the drawing using a flatbed scanner (I have also used a digital camera, this works in a pinch).

Then I use the threshold tool in GIMP to change every pixel in the grayscale image to either black or white.

Setting the opacity to around 20.0, I then use the bucket tool to shade the various parts of the image.

moose3

I add color.

For this particular image I wanted to add a background. To do this I go to:

Layer–>Transparency–>Add Alpha Channel

moose5

I then select the part I want to get rid of, in this case the white background. to do this I select the background by color,

moose6

then delete it.

Now it is time to add the background. Here I have the skyline of a certain Canadian city:

Toronto

What I do is import the background as a layer. I do this by going to:

File–>Open as layers

I mess around with the color, scale and blurriness of the background as I see fit,

moose8

then flatten the image.

Ta-Da!

About a month ago I found myself In distressing need of PneumaticT”s.

After poking around on Brick~Link, I discovered that my wonderful light-bley buddies are slightly cheaper when ordered from Poland. Because of this (and also because I”ve always wanted to buy stuff from Poland), I put in an order of 300 T”s (and some other stuff) to BricksPoland.

Now, a month later, my order has finally arrived! All the pieces are in great condition, but this is only the beginning.
In addition to my 300 T”s, 100 upright clips, 50 1×1 tiles, 20 horizontal clips, 20 1×1 clip lights (type two), 20 cheeses, four 1×2 plate with clips, horizontal, three 1×2 tiles, two 2×3 plate with hole”s and one 2x4x2 windscreen, I now have a used bubble-wrap envelope simply plastered with lovely Polish postage:

All in all, it was great ordering from BricksPoland, and I hope to buy from them again in future.

Oh, and the postage was only $4.90! Not bad at all, says I.
