From the monthly archives: January 2011

Today I painted a portrait of my hero, Gilbert Kieth Chesterton:
Who is that man?

I used watercolors for the shading, with the colors and text being added digitally.
I'm quite pleased with how it turned out!

By the way, I'm off to Washington DC tomorrow morning for the March for Life!

I drew two more turtles:

turtle1

turtle2

…as well as a tree monster and a walking dinosaur fortress:
tree

dinosaur

Some sources of inspiration include the giant in Time Bandits, Guney”s Dinotopia and this Copper comic.

I thought these were neat enough to post:
Whale City

Turtle Estate

I have a few more ideas, so we'll see where this goes!

I seem to be getting better at watercolor:

Floating Rocks

Trooper

I now have a watermark:

"Thank you for riding Amtrak..."

See ya!

New Year announcements!
NOTE: I know I'm a day late, but whatever.

To start off the year, let's go look at some of the stuff I did in 2010:

(listed in order of coolness)

Here's some stuff I want to do this year:

  • Two blog posts per week.
  • One comic per week
  • A project where I draw a self-portrait everyday for the next 365 days, then string them together and make a time-lapse sort of thing (Like that Noah guy did).
  • Some sort of board/card game.
  • A graphic novel
  • M:MMM (Like I did last year, only I'll finish it this time ;) )
  • I also want to publish some sort of collection of stuff at the end of the year, like some people do.

I wish a happy year and a blessed Epiphany to everyone!
