I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of my family’s new  camera (A fancy Nikon something-or-other). I am looking forward to trying some cool macro and depth-of-field stuff.

I babysat my comrades today (i.e., younger siblings). We decided to watch the Miyazaki film Castle in the Sky (with the French dub, because my nine-year-old sister is very keen to learn French).

It’s funny how watching a film with foreign dialog makes you notice how the music and acting (animation in this case) tell the story.

This evening marked the beginning of the construction of  my family’s new REPlicating RApid Prototyper. (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, It’s basically a 3-D printer that can produce the majority of it’s own parts. It’s a really cool project, be sure to check out the website.)

Below is my little bro’ (Mentioned in my last post). He Proved very helpful to our Papa (as opposed to me, who just sat around doodling).

I’m trying to develop a unique, entertaining, consistent and natural style. I’ve come a long way since I first put crayon to coloring-book, but I have further still to go.

I just returned from an extremely fun day of flying in gliders, watching gliders take off, wing running (not to be confused with “wing walking“) and and hanging out with very nice and interesting people, all courtesy of The Civil Air Patrol.

The glider.

The tow plane.

The activity was conducted by members of the Grand Forks Composite Squadron and the Jamestown Civil Air Patrol.

Here’s my squadron’s website, if anyone is interested.

I’d write more, but the day has left me feeling quite tired.

I’m trying to improve my watercolor scanning skills, which (as of this posting) amount to about nil.

As I see it, everyone needs a flying robot that goes *BEEP*.

Here’s the unedited version, if anyone’s interested.

I’m off to teach my first drawing lesson at tonight’s 4-H meeting.
