I’m not sure which one I like best. I have some ideas for a paper/wire armature type thing which I shall be blogging about soon.

In the meantime, check out peopletoo.ru for some amazing paper models.

In other news: I’m trying out Vimeo. I’ve posted a grand total of one (1) videos ;)

Please excuse my ignorance when it comes to the Japanese language. the characters on the flag are supposed to read “Butterfly”. knowing me, I probably messed it up ;)

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go watch Yojimbo.

My family watched Sanjuro last night. It’s a wonderful movie, and I highly recommend it. I think the Star Wars prequels would have been infinitely better had George Lucas based them off of Kurosawa films, like he did with A New Hope ;)

In other news, I recently purchased a Moleskine watercolor book. It’s just the right shape and size, it lays flat when you want it to, and the pages never come out on their own accord! Yessssssssss.

The giant robot is based off of this epic LEGO mech.

You know, ’cause two bots are better than one.

Yesterday was my parish’s annual 40-mile bike race. I spent two and a half hours biking along the highway, pleasantly conversing with a friend about Doctor WHO, LEGO, and stop-motion  animation.

As to the actual outcome of the race, the rival team emerged victorious. At any rate; it was lots of fun, and raised a great deal of funds for the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center.

Happy Divine Mercy Sunday!

I’ve got a terrible headache at the moment. Maybe it’s from all of these crosseye-view stereographic images I’ve been looking at lately. Or maybe I’m getting sick again. Or maybe it’s because I’ve just spent the last hour putting stuff up on my family’s Etsy store…

OH YEAH! That’s what I was going to blog about :)

Here’s what there is (pictures=links):

Great Scott! A post!

Two weeks ago I got a new sketchbook. On Tuesday I filled it. Out of the 200 pages of rubbish which I hope nobody (including myself) shall ever see again, there stand these few triumphs.

Mr Toad:

“I say you fellows!”

Back on February 16th, we got some nice, splashy, melty weather :)

And lastly here’s a self-portrait:

I’m not quite sure if this is “As I am” or “As I would like to be“. Maybe it’s somewhere in between…

In other news, I got all seven volumes of Flight recently. Some of my favorite artists now include Kazu Kibuishi, Regan Lodge, and of course, Ben Hatke and Doug TenNapell.

Thanks for reading!

Today I painted a portrait of my hero, Gilbert Kieth Chesterton:
Who is that man?

I used watercolors for the shading, with the colors and text being added digitally.
I'm quite pleased with how it turned out!

By the way, I'm off to Washington DC tomorrow morning for the March for Life!

Some sources of inspiration include the giant in Time Bandits, Guney”s Dinotopia and this Copper comic.
